Braving the Conditions on the Summit at Crystal Mountain March 13, 2011
Silas and I braved a blustery morning on the summit of Crystal Mountain. He kept the goggles on which helped deal with the somewhat harsh conditions. A nice morning breakfast buffet also helped a great deal. And of course it was also nice that we went up and came down on the gondola. Maybe we can bring the whole family up there next season, if we're lucky.
The kid's area at Crystal really lends itself to very small kids. With some foam toys to climb around and a gentle magic carpet, it seems like a great place to learn. I also liked that we had a great place to hike up up and get a few turns in with Silas in the Sherpani backpack. He definitely loved his first snowboard experience.
