Discovery Park Hike: south lot to beach April 30, 2012

Silas can officially manage a 4 mile hike at Discovery Park. Although the last mile was quite a slog. Hopefully thos is a sign he's ready for some mildly ambitious Cascade hikes this summer. But back to discovery… During our typical journey we hike down to the beach, then hang out for a long lunch break, then we hike back up the hill. On this journey, we managed to build a small shelter at the beach. With a pretty strong northwest wind, we needed all the shelter we could get.
