Mailbox Peak with daddy and Silas March 6, 2010

Picture of Mailbox Peak with daddy and Silas

Silas dragged mommy and daddy up an arduous cascade hike. This time we did the absurdly leg busting hike of mailbox peak just off I90 at exit 34. With a 4000 foot elevation gain in 2.5 miles Mailbox Peak poses a formidable challenge, especially with a baby on board. For once, there were a variety of kids up there. We saw brother and sister maybe 7 and 10 as well as a sleeping 10 month old. Once again, the “winter” offered great weather with temps getting up near 60 degrees. Silas was rather talkative and really enjoyed the “may bock” at the top. He didn’t hit the wall until we were heading down and he had a very unproductive 10 minute nap. After that he was a wreck until we got to the car.

NICE! So glad to see you’re not stopping hiking. don’t forget to blue-bag the pampers.
