Our favorite rainy day hangout, the sculpture park

Last weekend we went to the sculpture park when we were mommyless. There are some toys as well as drawing supplies for any future picassos out there. Hazel found the unusable crayons very entertaining and Silas worked on a nice city of blocks. Considering it was rainy and about 40 degrees out, this was a nice adventure.

Recycle bin in sculpture park pavillion

We made sure to remember some colorful plastic pieces for the recycle bins at the sculpture park. I tried to squeeze silas into this bin, but he couldn’t fit. I asks if we could put hazel in instead and he sad no. The only. Ad part about these bins was the fact that some of the toy pieces made their way into them.

Swanson’s

We took a trip to Swanson’s this afternoon to look at the fish – we were pleasantly surprised that they had wagons to use and a kids playhouse.

A few drops of sunshine in the late afternoon March 18, 2012, 9:28 am

A few drops of sunshine in the late afternoon

As we lorded over the flies while our wives enjoy a nice cross country ski weekend at Scottish Lakes we got a few glimpses of sunshine to end the day. Overall we had a pretty successful afternoon and the kids definitely had a lot of fun. Once hazel’s running around with the rest of the crew I think she’ll be having even more fun.

St Patricks Day snow at Woodland Park March 17, 2012, 1:12 pm

St Patricks Day snow at Woodland Park An another cool rainy morning we headed out to our nearest indoor facility, the Zoomasium. And to our pleasant surprise the rain turned into a nice a nice snow shower. You can see that Silas is a bit incredulous. We made it to the Zoomasium, but apparently they were filming some scenes from [...]

Fresh snow by the fire at Alpental March 15, 2012, 10:48 pm

Fresh snow by the fire at Alpental We’ve had a very wintry March here in the Pacific Northwest. With nearly 10 feet of snow falling in under a week in some places we’re shaping up to have a great spring and summer snowpack. But, at the fire by the base lodge, it looks like the Alpental crew needs to get to [...]

Riding in the double wide cart at Costco March 14, 2012, 9:16 am

Riding in the double wide cart at Costco We had our quarterly/semi-annual visit to Costco this past weekend. Highlights included sugar snap peas and a multi-pound log of salami. Lowlight was someone stealing our pizza and waiting another 20 minutes. I suppose cheapskates can’t be choosers. But we continue on… As you can see, Silas and Hazel really enjoy the cart [...]

Apple railing at Meridian Playground March 3, 2012, 6:40 pm

Apple railing at Meridian Playground

We found an apple inside of a railing at the artistically accented Meridian Playground. Silas and daddy ventured down 50th street to check out a new park. No sign of Dave Matthews, although I’ve heard he lives in the neighborhood. The park is definitely geared towards little tykes with small slides, sand boxes, and a ton of swings.

Oscar’s looking Golden Tonight

On the night of the Academy Awards, our very own Oscar is showcasing his best work. Who wouldn’t be speechless winning an Oscar? I know we couldn’t be luckier. I’d like to thank the streets of Atl for bringing the golden Oscar into our lives.
